Welcome to Your Community Foundation

connecting people who care with causes that matter…since 1969

Created by community leaders as the Area Fund, the Community Foundation of Dutchess County is a public charitable organization that is a driving force for philanthropy in Dutchess County.

Representing thousands of donors through more than 350 separate funds that make up its endowment, your Foundation encourages a sense of community by channeling much-needed resources to area organizations.

Working with donors who wish to ensure and improve the quality of life in Dutchess County, we cover a broad and diverse range of issue areas including the arts, education, community development, conservation, health, and human services.

The Foundation provides superior donor services, makes grants and scholarships that positively impact the community, ensures sustainability of the philanthropic community and serves as a leader, catalyst, and resource.

We are both a grantmaker and a vehicle for donors to accomplish their philanthropic dreams.

The Community Foundation of Dutchess County exists to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of our area, now and for generations to come, by building community endowments, addressing needs through grantmaking, and providing leadership on key community issues.
